Hi , I need help about calculator cable<>PC
I used AFX 2.0 so can I use FA-122 Cable ?
By the way, Whether (FA-122 cable) that's you made comportable with FA-124 software ?
My laptop used Windows 7 64 bit
So, if FA-124 support with windows 7 64x
whether your FA-122 cable with the (driver) support too ?
where can I find the driver ?

Where can a connect (9-pin D female) to my laptop ?

Do I need converter cable (9-pin Male)<>(USB) ?

Yes, you can use the fa-122 cable. I created one of these homemmade cables to use with my casio AFX 1.0 (is basically the same calc as AFX 2.0, but "without native" CAS).

It works with fa-124 and with almost other unnoficial file transfer software such as CasioCom. CasioCom is in my opinion the best program, at least to install add-ins, while fa-124 is the best to install basic programs.

I only have pcs with windows 7 32bits, so im not sure about 64bits windows 7. But probably should work...

When you install the fa-124, it install the drive necessary...


VGA cables are related with the pc graphic card, you should not bought one of these.
If your laptop doesnt have a rs232 port, you need bought a rs232 to usb adaptar. Check my post here: http://www.casiopeia.net/forum/viewtopi ... =10#p12891
I have an image of the adapter that you should bought. I bought it from the online store dealextreme by 3$ with free shipping, probably is the cheapest on the web. Search at dealextreme For "USB to RS232 Serial Port Adapter". This adapter works Well!

In this case I came across this schematic

to build a CASIO DATA cable for calculator AFX 2.0.

Everything seems to be in the right order. Except the MOSFET transistor.
One of site suggests to use ZVP 3306 or VP0106 (altough it tells the model as SiVP 01069602). (I think it is Mosfet P channel).

I can't find any of these in my location. Is there any equivalent easier to find?.

Bellow you can see the schematic. Middle, Bottom and Tip, are Ring, Base and Tip in 2.5 mm audio plug.

The Siliconix SiVP 01069602 is a bit rare, even in the specialized electronics (web) stores. The ZVP 3306A is "easy" to find for purchase online, for exemple in the eBay.
