Welcome to Casiopeia!
Our name is inspired by the constellation "Cassiopeia", and is suggested by yeongJIN_COOL, taking advantage of the beginning of the word cassiopeia be very similar to the word/brand casio.
If you want to program for casio calculators you're in the right place! We are a young, but active community.

View the latest post Customize your Casio off-screen logo with a BitMaP image

When powering off your fx-7400Gii, fx-9750Gii, fx-9860G or fx-9860Gii, you are shown a nice Casio logo.
This logo is in fact a BMP image included in the OS - and from now on, a new tool is going to let you overwrite that image! ;)
Image Image

You can now fully customize your Casio calculator - why not putting an image with your nick in order to prevent theft? ;)

The BMP image has to be in 128 x 64 pixels, with 1-bit color depth.
This format is refered as "monochrome Bitmap" in some softwares, and in other softwares you just get it by setting an indexed image with a 2-colors palette.
For exemple, GIMP is able to read this format although it won't accept to write it as far as I know - but the simple Microsoft Paint everyone has with Microsoft Windows is able to do it!

And for those who won't believe in a single image, here's the video: ;)

View the latest post Eigenmath Cas engine ported to fx9860 by Diameter

The fx9860g serie of Casio calculators was designed to be used especially in high schools and contrary to Classpads it has no CAS.

During the last few years some developers have tried to create a CAS add-in for fx9860g calculators.

The first was kucalc (if I'm right) from UCF with symbolix in 2007. Symbolix has a good user interface and can do some algebra but as it is a beta version, contains some bugs.

After was created other cas add-in known as "jeuxcasio cas" by Alexis and Pierrotll. It is more reliable and stable than Symbolix. The last update was in 2008.

But now there is another alternative. Some days ago, Diameter released in CnCalc.org a port of Eigenmath Cas engine to fx9860g. It can derive and make much more such as simplify, roots...

Contrary to jeuxcasio CAS add-in, in Eigenmath fx 1.0 symbols like π (pi), √ (sqrt), cos, tan, sin and others are not (yet) associated with the calc keys and there is no function catalogue. Anyway I have to congratulate the author, he did an impressive work (again).

View the latest post Back after a server hardware failure and some downtime

On Saturday (27-07) morning the server where the site is hosted had a hardware problem, becoming inaccessible.

The team that manages the server managed to solve completely the problem today. No data (posts, files...) was lost and I think everything is working properly again. :D

I apologize for the downtime.
