New generation of fx-9860 addins developpers ?

Postby PierrotLL » Wed Apr 18, 2012 3:36 pm

Since around 2 years, I see no new fx-9860 addins from internationnal community. In the french community (on Planet-casio.com) we are at least 9 still-active developpers (P.o, Eiyeron, Kevkevvtt, Purobaz, Vdragon.b, Adbook, Thomatos, Louloux, and me) plus some beginners. In 2011 we released 19 new addin games on Planet-casio. But I see no new games from english/spanish/portuguese/german communities. Please, show me I'm wrong. If you know new games, new evolutions in fx-9860 hacking, new libraries, still-active developpers, please show them to me.

The absence of active website may have repel newcomers. If you want to begin with Casio fx-9860 SDK, know that you are on the right place to get help advise and congatulations.

I once thought of learning C++. But it is a bit harder to learn by trial and error than basics. especially because it can fck up your calculator.
Pierrot can you make an simpel add in where a small circle/ball is drawn and you can move the ball with the cursor keys? Maybe this way it is easier to learn how to do it.
And maybe explain a little bit how to put those file in the compiler.

Perhaps this is partly due to the fact, that the new fx-9860-calculator generation (USB power graphic 2) has the Prizm's SH-4A CPU. Though the syscalls are still compatible to the old fx-9860-series, most of the programs use at least a bit direct hardware access, which will fail in any case, if based on old hardware access libraries.
We need a SDK, which combines the fx-9860 syscalls with the Prizm's hardware.
I'll be back!

As I said on Cemetech, “There is a lot of tutorials on web, read some of them otherwise you will never understand anything. Programming is like making a magic potion. You can't obtain the desired result just by mixing magical ingredients without understanding their properties.”

Programming in C is not difficult ! Just learn how to create a variable, write a condition or a loop, create and call a function, manipulate an array, and use a structure, and you know 80% of the C language. You can learn all of that in a single day if you already have some programming notions.
Next write some little training programs for computer to burn this knowledge in your brain ("more or less" game, array sorter ...) then you can download the Casio fx-9860 SDK, read its documentation, and write the example addin that you ask me.
Don't be affraid.

EDIT: This one seems to be good : http://www.cprogramming.com/tutorial/c-tutorial.html

In just three months, we had more new add-in releases than in the past two/three years. It's amazing!
