FA-124 + fx9860: Addins don't appear
I sometimes have the problem, that I can transfer programs with FA-124 to my fx9860G2-2, so they are listed in the root of the storage with the default extension g1a, but in the main menu the program doesn't appear
When I try to transfer the "broken" program to my friend's calculator, it doesn't appear, too
.
After a few optimizations, deletions and more tries it works again.
So, to make it simple, here an example:
The program "asdf.g1a" is already on-calc. I can see it in the main menu.
I connect my calculator to my computer using USB and FA-124 (Win7, 64 bit).
Everything is normal, I drag&drop my games to the root, e. g. the games "123.g1a" and "234.g1a".
Now everything runs normal, I disconnect my calculator after the successed transfer.
I can see all 3 games in the smem: "asdf.g1a", "123.g1a", "234.g1a" - but when I want to start these programs, I cannot choose the programs "123.g1a" or "234.g1a", because their icons simply don't appear! "asdf.g1a" is still there.
I already tried to run sc 0x0005 (App_RegisterAddins()) without result.
The Os-sums are all ok, if this is necessary.
What is wrong?

Re: FA-124 + fx9860: Addins don't appear
I have no fx9860 but if the things are like on the Prizm, then corrupt add-ins (where the checksum of the code section doesn't match what's in the header) won't appear on the Main Menu. Check the add-in you're trying to transfer is fine in the first place.
Re: FA-124 + fx9860: Addins don't appear
The addins are correct, I already transfered them before, unchanged.
I want to add an information: fileconverter says just "Timeout".
I'll try to initalize the flash now...
Edit: Ok, the flash init didn't help
Now I'll try to restart my computer, uninstall the driver etc.

This old topic seems to be similar with your problem: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1331
Check it! Maybe can help...

Re: FA-124 + fx9860: Addins don't appear
Hm, I tried re-importing, that didn't work.
Why should downloading again help? Does FA-124 change the data while importing?
Finally, I could manage fileconverter working, the same problem. I'll now recompile my addins or download them again...
Edit: Even with recompiling that doesn't work
I managed this problem some weeks ago, but I don't know how

Re: FA-124 + fx9860: Addins don't appear
Sorry, double post
It works now.
I had to clear the main memory (Why? I don't know!) and the storage memory (I cleared just the storage (= flash)). (I tried to delete just the smem -> the addins were still listed in the memory manager O.o).
Also, I had to re-import all programs (what a waste of time
).

Did you try to optimize the storage memory before clearing it?

Re: FA-124 + fx9860: Addins don't appear
I'm not yet sure but I think a very-non-optimized memory (i.e. with lots of fragmentation) may sometimes produce read errors.
