Re: Build your homemade casio calculator cable
Would it be possible to use a prebuilt rs232 to ttl converter as a casio cable? I assume all i would need extra is the 2.5mm jack.

Active converter powered by some USB-port. TTL-RXD, TTL-TXD and GND ready to be distributed freely by some patch wires, which you have to connect to the 2.5mm only.Razumikhin wrote:Would it be possible to use a prebuilt rs232 to ttl converter as a casio cable? I'd say yes! This should save some soldering time.
I'll be back!
Re: Build your homemade casio calculator cable
Hmm. There is a possible danger that running it from a 5v USB port will mean the transmit will be at 5v not 3.3v as you want. It states power from 3.3v to 5v. Ask if output voltage is selectable. TTL volts can be different and incompatible.
Re: Build your homemade casio calculator cable
You should be able to buy a 3 3v regulator module for about 50p. Just to be safe.
Re: Build your homemade casio calculator cable
You put it between the USB and the unit. These things often run at the voltage they are supplied with.
