Installed A Wrong Os Update Version
I installed the OS update for fx-9860G(slim) when my calculator was actually just the fx-9860G (NOT SLIM). this caused my screen display to turn upside down and the functions of my calculator's buttons to be entirely messed up. anyone knows how to solve this??
i use the program fx remote to upgrade, and i cant connet the calculator to pc

Re: Installed A Wrong Os Update Version
You must invoke the bootcode OS updater (also called emergency OS updater). Then you can recover the OS from your flash backup, which you hopefully made before overwriting the OS. Or, if you should not have made a backup, you could re-install the OS by using one of the (fitting) official CASIO OS update packages.

Re: Installed A Wrong Os Update Version
On a fx 9860G just one cm right of the P-button is an opening in the calculator's case. Below you should see a contact. This is P104. Push the P-button while you have P104 closed. I usually use a piece of conductive plastic. Some guys use a paperclip (do not damage the PCB with this tool). Don't give up after the first unsuccessful try. This is a bit tricky.rikrik9797 wrote:how i do the emergency os updater?
Then the calculator will display a message like this
OS ERROR
Please update OS.
framed by asterisks.
In this state, you can use f. i. some official CASIO OS update package to recover the OS.

Re: Installed A Wrong Os Update Version
In case that somebody else needs the information, too.
This is for the fx9860G:

This is for the fx9860G slim (usually the opening to P104 is concealed by a piece of adhesive tape):

P104 is not easily reachable with a GII (9860 as well as 9750)- trigger the bootcode OS update on the GII-types by simultaneously holding down F2, 4 and Ac/ON and pressing the RESTART-button (the calc should show a blank display after releasing the keys) and finally pressing 9 and x consecutively (hold down 9 and x about a second each)
