Technical Issue in ClassPad II fx-CP400: Lack of De

Postby Shahram50 » Tue Mar 11, 2025 8:54 pm

Hello everyone,

I would like to discuss an important technical limitation in the ClassPad II fx-CP400 that affects software development and security. Currently, there is no built-in command to retrieve the device's unique identifier (such as a serial number or device ID).

Why is this a problem?

Developers cannot implement software licensing for their programs.

There is no way to restrict software execution to specific devices.

Identifying different devices in academic or professional environments is difficult.

Suggested Solution:

I propose that Casio adds a command like GetDeviceID() in a future firmware update. This would allow developers to retrieve a unique identifier from the calculator, helping with security, licensing, and device differentiation.

How You Can Help:

If you agree that this feature would be useful, please:

1. Share your thoughts in the comments below.

2. Submit a similar request to Casio via their support page:
https://www.casio.com/intl/support/

3. Spread the word so more users can support this request!

The more people request this feature, the higher the chances that Casio will consider implementing it. Let's make our voices heard!

Looking forward to your feedback and support!

Best regards,
Shahram fathi
