Changing the icons of default applications
Hello everybody,
is there a known possibility to change the icons of pre-installed applications (like Run-Mat, Table, Recur,...)?
As far as I know, the icon is stored in the subheader of each application. Is this subheader changeable?

Re: Changing the icons of default applications
The icons of pre-installed applications (like Run-Mat, Table, Recur,...) are stored in calculator OS (not in a file .g1a) so it is a bit difficult.
Change the icon of custom .g1a add-ins is possible.

Can't we just point to the address where the icon code is positioned and overwrite the specific values?

The icons reside in the flash memory. It cannot be simply overwritten like RAM.Pedantis wrote:Can't we just point to the address where the icon code is positioned and overwrite the specific values?

Flash memory can be overwritten (that's how the OS is updated), but the process is risky. We do at least know the OS checksums would need to be recalculated, but we don't know if that's enough... imagine there's a error in the newly crafted icon, the calc would crash when opening the Menu, rendering it unusable - nothing that emergency OS updater can't usually solve, but it's a lot of work associated with the risk of breaking the calculator.
