New fx-9860GII + OS 2.05 for France
In France, the fx-9860GII is called "Graph 75", and the fx-9860GII SD is called "Graph 95".
For back to school 2014, we got a new model, the "Graph 75+".
It was just a "Graph 75" coming with OS 2.04 and the SH4 CPU.
For back to scool 2015, we're getting a new model again, the "Graph 75+E", coming with a new 2.05 OS :

It features a new "exam mode", and an exam LED.
Activating the "exam mode" does turn on the LED, and forbid you from running add-ins.
To activate the "exam mode", you need to turn on the calculator while holding [cos] and [7].

The test menu does reveal a new "CY802A" code and OS 2.05 build date.
It seems the model is still using an old boot code built in 2011 though.

And at last, here is the new 'CY902-1' PCB :

This is interesting news.
I hope it's not an invariably french thing and we will have the joy to do some ... calculations with the new model in Germany, too.

Now, were they smart enough to at least not export the functions that enable and disable the LED, and the examination mode, as syscalls?
Not that it would be much trouble to jump to the code in question directly...
...and I wonder if every GetKey call "refreshes" the LED state to on/off whenever examination mode is on/off?

Just to make this clear:
We will not let people know about possibilities to bypass or modify the examination mode and we will not comment on such topics.

All exam mode models have been updated to OS 2.09 in late 2015.
And Casio is now installing a special OS 2.10 on newly produced Graph 35+ E models.
This OS contains the Spreadsheet application (for the first time): http://support.casio.com/fr/manual/004/ ... 210_FR.pdf

Re: New fx-9860GII + OS 2.05 for France
I am quite happy with how casio implemented exam mode as they don't delete any content so there is no hustle of restoring anything after exam.
One of the things which interests me is not exam mode but timers and getkey functionality making status bar display changing every second or so for example.
Some time before exam mode was introduced I developed a couple of add-ins adding time display both as G-SHOCK display and in the status bar etc expanding eventually time display to the status bar of most built-in apps via my G-PLUS add-in. Thanks to Simon for builtin apps calling help. I don't remember exact way I completed it originally but once exam mode was introduced i remember thinking that knowing the way flashing R is achieved in the new os might have saved me some time or gave me options too. My G-Plus add-in link is in my signature and more details about it in combination with G-SHOCK functionality can be found on cemetech if you wish to test them or contribute anything
Many thanks in advance

The inverse "R" is displayed from out of the central input loop and under special circumstances inside of the display refresh routine. The flashing frequence is controlled by querying the RTC. Obviously no timer interrupt handler is involved.AmazoNKA wrote:One of the things which interests me is not exam mode but timers and getkey functionality making status bar display changing every second or so for example.
